IT'S COLD THERAPY 


  • CRYOTHERAPY reduces the body’s temperature by 30-40 degrees during a (3) minute session sending messages to the brain that stimulate regulatory functions to the body. 


  • The body then goes into a ‘fight or flight’ mode whereby blood is flushed to the core causing oxygenation and purification thus accelerating healing. 


  • The immune system powerfully increases white blood cell count significantly reducing inflammation, which is the primary cause of disease and infection. 


  • The endocrine system jumps into action releasing endorphin and nor-epinephrine those happy “feel good” hormones.

  • Whole Body CRYO offers a very different response and experience than uncomfortable ice baths.  


  • Just three (3) minutes of CRYO is equivalent to (20-30) minutes submerged in freezing cold water. 


  • Unless submerged for the full 20-30 minutes (yikes!), the ice bath benefits can be very superficial. 


  • CRYO penetrates the surface level of the skin redistributing blood and recharging internal organs. 


  • Cold air causes the brain to restrict blood flow to your extremities releasing anti-inflammatory proteins, endorphins and super-charging the blood. 


  • Twenty minutes in an ice bath initially causes the body to move blood towards the extremities lowering the body’s core temperature. Good but not great!


  • Simply put...Ice baths do not have the long lasting effects of Cryotherapy and are far more uncomfortable.

  • Gloves, ear muffs, socks and slippers are provided. Women can choose to a wear a bra though not necessary, but please (no underwire).


  • *Men are required to wear boxers or underwear. 


  • Jewelry and external body piercings must be removed. 


  • If coming from the gym or workout, you'll need to be completely dry; we have towels. 


  • Do not apply oils or lotions prior to your session. 


  • Music: We have it, but most customers prefer to bring their own and we agree :)

  • To get acclimated, you'll first step into a 'pre-chamber' for 10-20 seconds.


  • Next, walk thru swinging doors into the chamber and begin healing. 


  • If at any time you wish to step out, just walk back thru the swinging doors and out the front door. NO LOCKS EVER!

  • Removing makeup or showering before a session is not necessary. The procedure is dry and does not make your skin wet. Lunch time sessions are very popular since the entire session is only 3 minutes.

IT'S A DIFFERENT TYPE OF COLD


  • WBC uses dry, hyper-cooled air with no moisture. The air flows over the surface of the skin giving the feeling of being cold but never freezing skin. 


  • Vital organs, muscles and tissues will all remain at their normal body temperature. 


  • CRYO is tolerable even to those who consider themselves cold intolerant. Towards the end of the session, you may feel a “pins & needles” sensation which will dissipate. 


  • Improved oxygen circulation stimulates the production of brown fat which should improve the ability to tolerate cold better in the future.

  • Depending upon the condition being treated, 5-10 sessions in close succession (every other day is recommended) for the first 2 weeks. After this initial loading period, maintenance sessions should be at least once per week.

  • CRYO is very well tolerated and has minimal risks. Systolic blood pressure during the procedure can increase by 10 points but will reverse after the procedure as peripheral circulation returns to normal. 


  • Allergic reactions to extreme cold (chilblain), claustrophobia, anxiety are rare. Activation of some viral conditions (cold sores, etc.) due to stimulation of the immune system can occur. 


  • Protective clothing (socks, gloves, undergarments) must be dry in order to avoid chilblain.

  • CRYO  might be covered by some health insurance  plans. Check with your provider beforehand. If approved, we do not bill insurance, you'll need to submit to them for reimbursement.
